Familiarity is the quiet reason names survive triage. You have looked at the chart for weeks, so it feels important even when structure flattened.
Pair review is simple: two traders swap printed lists, no screens for the first ten minutes. Each person marks names they would drop and must give one structural reason. The owner can defend or accept. Most drops happen in that paper-only phase.
We run this exercise in the Weekly Market Review seats. Hearing someone else say your invalidation level out loud often clarifies whether you actually believe it.
Ground rules matter: no performance jokes, no hindsight stories. One reason per mark, written on the sheet. The goal is a shorter list, not a debate trophy.
If you trade alone, record a sixty-second voice note explaining why each name remains. Awkward pauses usually point to the next drop.
